Tony Booth Day Returns to Pearland on May 1

The 15th Annual Tony Booth Day is coming up on Saturday, May 1st at Billy’s Hall.

This year's event will bring a country dancehall extravaganza to Pearland with performances by the Tony Booth Band, of course, as well as Darrell McCall and Mona McCall. Other talented locals that are joining the show include Dana Rowan, Kari Hlavinka, Mary Dooley, and Royce Melton.

Tony Booth said “Being able to perform our 15th annual event is a great honor. Having County Judge and Brazoria County Commissioners declare the first Saturday in May, Tony Booth Day in Brazoria County means a lot to me. I want to thank all the fans that show up for this event, it’s not possible without the fans.”

Tony Booth is a Texas legend in country music, and was inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in 2014. He was only 19 years old when he started his career in the industry.

The Tony Booth Band won Band of the Year, by the Academy of Country Music, from 1970-1972. In 1973, Booth was nominated for the ACM Male Vocalist of the year award, sharing the podium with country music legends like  Buck Owens, Conway Twitty, Ray Price, Merle Haggard, and Charley Rich.
