Alvin Independent School District Mobile Meals program is one of 12 initiatives being honored in Texas School Business Magazine’s fourth annual Bragging Rights special issue.
The special issue features 12 stories about outstanding programs and has been distributed to more than 8,000 readers.
Alvin Independent School District was featured due to it’s successful summer lunch program. Their program went on the road last summer, delivering meals to children throughout the community.
“We were impressed by Alvin ISD’s commitment to making sure students from low-income families have at least one healthy meal a day during the summer months,” says Texas School Business Editor Katie Ford. “This is a model program and we’re proud to highlight it as an example of excellence in Texas public education.”
The program goes above and beyond feeding youngsters and is worthy of recognition for all the hard work that goes into making it work.
Texas School Business Magazine serves as an independent voice for public education in Texas. The magazine is distributed 10 times a year and is published in Austin.
