http://www.runpearland.com/It’s time to lace up the running shoes for the third annual Pearland Half Marathon + 10K on March 21. This year, runners will have a choice between a virtual or in-person race. The in-person race will start at Independence Park at 3449 Pearland Parkway.
Although this is only the third year for the event, the first year hosted about 1,500 competitors. In 2020 the event was switched to an all virtual event due to the pandemic reducing the number of competitors to only 700.
Runners can register online for a live or virtual half-marathon or 10K. Race directors are capping the in-person numbers to 800 in order to provide a safe and socially distanced event. People are eager to get out and race, so this event is anticipated to reach their in-person capacity quickly.
Groups will be distanced according to the pace they provide at registration. In order to space out the runners, there will be 5 minutes between pacing groups. Runners will also be required to wear face masks at the start and finish. Masks can be disposed at the half mile mark and new masks will be provided near the finish.
