Pearland Looks to Change Alcohol Laws

Recently, a citizen-led petition just reached the minimum signature requirement needed to bring businesses to Pearland that do over 51% of their sales in alcohol. The citizens of Pearland have spoken, and it’s clear that they want more options for expanding its options for entertainment, as well as their economy.

The Pearland Entertainment and Beverage Coalition led the charge in writing up and circulating the petition. They were able to collect over 15,000 signatures to make the viability of this petition possible.

Currently, the petition is going through the verification process, which should be wrapping up before August 19th. The PEBC’s next steps after that will be going through the Pearland City Council for approval. If they gain approval, the next push will be getting this item on the upcoming November ballot.
