Fred Brent Named New Alvin ISD Superintendent

On Friday December 3, the Alvin Independent School District Board voted to hire Dr. Fred Brent as their new Superintendent for the Alvin Independent School District. Brent will officially start his new duties on December 30. He will take the next few weeks to get oriented in his new position and move his family to the Alvin area.

The process of choosing a new Superintendent took many hours, meetings, and interviews, but the board feels that since Brent has served as a teacher and principal at Little Cypress Mauriceville and as a principal in Orangefield, Texas and Navasota, Texas, his qualifications fit Alvin ISD's needs. At his time of acceptance, Brent was in his fifth year of service as the Superintendent at Anderson-Shiro Consolidated Independent School District.
