Alvin ISD Recognized For Nutrition

Alvin ISD has been recognized by Children at Risk for their ability to go above and beyond providing nutrition to students in their district. Alvin ISD has provided nutritious meals throughout the pandemic and during the school day. Their dedication to nutrition has been noted in the 2020 Kroger Food Rankings as the second in the Houston area and third in the state among large school districts.

AISD has made a goal to provide breakfast, lunch and weekend meal bundles to both home and school learners. The district has served over 56,000 weekend meal bundles since the beginning of the 2020-21 school year.

Children at Risk, a non-partisan research and advocacy organization, helps find the sources of poor public policies affecting children. The Kroger School Food Rankings assess how districts distribute meals to low income children.

Keep up the good work Alvin ISD!
