Volunteers are needed by Volunteer Houston Bay Area for a number of area organizations that would love your help!
Volunteers are needed to bathe and groom dogs at an animal shelter in Alvin. The shelter is open weekdays and Saturdays. This service can be done on a regular or occasional basis.The “Souper Bowl of Caring” will take place on the weekend of February 5 and 6 in Alvin, Friendswood, and Pearland. This will potentially be the largest food drive ever held in the Greater Houston area. Volunteers will be staffing food donation stations at participating grocery stores and answer questions.Volunteers are wanted to take patients from local airports to hospitals where they will receive treatment. Volunteers are needed to work an hour or two at a time to transport these patients.An Assisted living center in Friendswood is in need of volunteers to read aloud to a small group of residents. Bible study selections, poems, or shorts can be chosen to read. Volunteers’ can read during the morning or afternoon on any weekday.
