Pearland Theater presents a Broadway Musical

Summer is drawing to a close and many families are looking for something fun to do together before heading back to school. Backporch productions is presenting their rendition of 'The Music Man' with an 18 piece orchestra and 50 local actors.

The musical is based on the story by Willson and Franklin Lacey. Con man, Harold Hill poses as a boys' band director and leader, sells band instruments and uniforms to naive townsfolk before skipping town with the cash. In River City, Iowa, prim librarian and piano teacher Marian Paroo sees through him, however when Hill helps her younger brother overcome his fear of social interactions due to his lisp, Marian begins to fall in love with Harold. He in turn falling for Marian, risks being caught to win her love.
