Pearland ISD will hold its first ever livestock show and rodeo on September 27 through 29 at the Richard L. Wagoner Agricultural Facility on Bailey Road.
The press release stated that the event will provide area students with the opportunity to exhibit their livestock, showcase their talents, and win scholarships and awards. The event will feature lamb, goat, pig and cattle shows. They will also host auctions, art contests, crafts, and a petting zoo.
According to Hunter Morgan, a Pearland ISD agricultural science teacher, "Our goal is to combine the county fair experience and the after-county show into one first-class event, giving our students the chance to earn fair value for their efforts. Combining these two events and hosting a show in our own backyard will focus our efforts where they count the most- in our community for our students."
Proceeds from the event will go to three scholarships- livestock, culinary, and art. Community participation and volunteering is strongly encouraged. To become a sponsor or to volunteer, please call (281) 485-3203.
