Friendswood Alters Plans For July 4th Celebrations

The 4th of July celebrations in Friendswood will look a bit different this year, with many of our anticipated celebrations and events being cancelled due to COVID-19.  Friendswood City Manager, Morad Kabiri, announced the cancellations of the Fourth of July carnival at Stevenson Park, the concert at Centennial Park and the fireworks display. The city felt these cancellations were necessary in order to comply with social distancing requirements put in place.

The community will still be able to celebrate the 4th of July with a parade that will go throughout Friendswood neighborhoods. Residents will be able to enjoy the parade with friends and family from their front lawns.

Despite the cancellations, families should find ways to celebrate this independence day from home with their families. What are some creative ideas or traditions your families plan to continue this year?
