The holidays are officially in full force and the cities of Pearland and Alvin are ready with classic tradition. Pearland’s Hometown Christmas Parade is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. The parade begins at Old Alvin Road, moves east on FM 518 and ends at Pearland Parkway.
This marks the event’s 37th year and will feature lighted, decorated floats representing businesses, nonprofit organizations, families and individuals. This year’s theme is “Pearland 125: Past, Present and Future” previewing the city’s upcoming 125th anniversary and kicking off its yearlong quasquicentennial celebration which will last through 2019. To complement that theme, the city is encouraging float entries to celebrate themes of city history, local business or organization history. Parking: spectators may park in the shopping centers along the parade route at no cost.
