Beneezy Purple Monkey Fun Run Event at Alvin High School

Tomorrow is the day for the annual Beneezy Purple Monkey Fun Run Event at Alvin High School! This event includes a 1k that is perfect for children to participate in, and a 5K and 10K for adults. The kids’ 1K race will begin at 7:00 a.m. followed by the next races at 7:30 a.m. Runners will be able to register at the door and pick up their packages from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. in Gym 3 at Alvin High School. Registering the day of will be $20 for the 1K race and $35 for the 5K and 10K races. 

The annual Beneezy Purple Monkey Fun Run raises money towards the Benjamin James Garcia Memorial Fund created to help graduating students pay for college through scholarships. Benjamin Garcia was someone who positively impacted everyone he met. Based on several stories on the Purple Monkey website, one of many ways Ben made people smile was by adding "eezy" to the end of different words. To learn more about the significance of the Purple Monkey, please visit the website for more information about this event and its back story. 

For residents of the Lakes of Savannah community, this event will be the perfect time for Alvin ISD students and parents to meet one another while being active. Activities like these help children start an active lifestyle young, which will be extremely beneficial as they grow older.
