Alvin ISD students score higher than state average in most STAAR subjects

Alvin ISD scored higher than the state average on nearly all 2016 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness exams, according to data released Monday. AISD Met Standard rating with no campuses earning a Needs Improvement rating. End-of-course exams for high school students included algebra I, biology, English I, English II and U.S. history. Statewide algebra I scores reflect an 81 percent satisfactory rating, while AISD scores were 85 percent satisfactory. AISD scored 1 percent higher than the state average in biology and matched the state average in U.S. history with a 92 and 94 percent satisfactory rating. English I and II test scores were each 3 percent lower than the state average with a 60 and 63 percent satisfactory rating, respectively. For more information, visit here.
