Alvin Community College, 3110 Mustang Road is helping students in the community get back to work. Partnering with the Workforce Development Department it is offering an new “Mentoring for Success”, a new program specifically designed to help students get back into the workplace.
The program gives students visibility in the working community. One student had been suffering from unemployment for years, entered into the “Mentoring for Success” program and within the year landed a job at the local Chamber of Commerce. According to the press release, the program increased the students computer skills and gave her a competitive edge is customer relations.
