2nd Annual Shelia Garza Food Drive Held at Alvin Elementary

Alvin Elementary supported local students and families in need during the holidays by collecting over 4000 cans of food! The 2nd Annual Shelia Garza Memorial Food Drive was coordinated and promoted by the Alvin Elementary Student Council. They created and decorated flyers and performed self written skits in support of the drive.

The Spirit committee, student council and parent volunteers all worked hard to make the food drive a success.

Shelia Garza, the teacher for which the food drive is named after, coordinated the food drive until her death.

Alvin Independent School District and all of its students and staff are in support of giving back to their community. Many other campuses have conducted very successful food drives for this upcoming holiday season including Hood-Case Elementary, Passmore Elementary, Savannah Lakes Elementary, Stevenson Primary, Walt Disney Elementary and Wilder Elementary.
